On the show this time I would like to welcome David both from David he's the owner of northwest's largest garage sale and vintage sale hitter David. Yeah it going doing good. So listen did gigantic garage invented sill it's should join community event tell us about it. Well it's we do it three times a year in this ones July 15 coming up with the court any programs. It's going to be. It used to be in the front parking lot were moving it. It some of it inside the building is we have so many people want an indoor area where it wasn't so hard to. Air conditioning and then we still have the outside. Area for people that wanna sell outside. And hopefully we'll be hotly July 15 strength usually if so decent. Seven the issue aviation it's sometimes it gets up there in the numbers what can we expect when we come out this deal. Well it's famous. Always people. Remote spot and they can sell anything they wanted to come from. In Greenwich to new items to mean. You don't just regular old ground so stuff submit red spot. They keep their own money and so then deal with their customers. On their own singular basis since. Now let's mix that's what makes you kind of unique rates. Yep media we love of the so there's two. So and make their own deal and we pretty much just leave him alone to do those kind of sales of items for themselves. Can you give us a little bit of a preview of what's what's going to be for sale we've seen anything yet. Well. I mean been talking to the guys. That. Do storage units we have quite a few. Guys that go out by storage units it and they bring them up to solve. It and Norah. So when one goes six teams spots. While he's got a lot of stuff that is the primo good stuff. How to get started. I use tools. When I was a kid I grew up in Southern California. And did have a whole lot of money so. On Saturdays me in my body went right over to the swap meet and so little things of the swap mean that was outdoors. And when we move on my parents moved appear when it was a fifteen. When I was fifteen. In 1982. A bit after a long time. It. There was nothing like get him. Whenever I had a chance to go to him. California 01 of my favorite things to do list and go to the swap meets down there. I just coming back got a recipe and there's not select that appear when. They try to start something like this which was a lot more harder than her opponent would be but it. An idea that turned into about three year process of it's been nine years now and it's grown into a very good. Event people come from. Idaho Montana and California. Often. Canada and in. Over. Then heaters it's a problem come out to sell and some some defiant. You know kind of all over the Pacific northwest and West Coast and yeah actually open nor boy or let the so David I know I'm not up on my you my you've garage silver and a killer but what's the difference between. So an antique and collectible and something that is vintage. Images anything that's. Older I mean you can be 1970. And its image. I am obviously him not. I I and I what I heard what time is an antique a hundred years old. So ballots were I think that cups from. We just used the word vintage because it was so. One of the vendors. Always hold their stuff. Nice vintage items so that was one of them you know they wanted to sell ourselves so we added that two. The mix. And you get some high end stuff that horror. You know a lot higher than you'd find at a garage so so we have to call it something so we Colin divinity sales to. And some people just call it junk which is kind of a fun fun a caller to some of can call us. Poland joking. They go junk and then asks it to basing some of those people Goran gets stuff and then they bring it back to their house and turn it into the unique items. And bring them back consult its so. So very. Cool to watch different things. You know what they'd make these different piece is that it would you would call joked. And during the sale you're also helping out a couple of different local nonprofits can you tell us about those. That we have immunity ink. She was so boy that was its. Shots. Or the high schools. And his mom wanted to do something and its name and it's due to certain newly inked. In which he. There's a bunch of fundraising. And they're actually having a growth so in this. Weeks coming up. They. Raised money it's too. But I closed for kids didn't pay school that can afford to buy quotes. So she doesn't really good thing in his name. And they'll be represented there at the grosso. Yet they do we'll be there. And you also had of tyrant performance. Other. He's doing his. Events where he gives the church and then the way also you can sign up there and do little kit so your child ever goes missing you have everything you eat there. Hopefully that Africa. That is pretty great to have those mode to organizations represented categorized so how did you decide to do that. Won't change just we just met right after tyrant. Disappeared. He's been. A close friend of ours for. For years. It's been a couple of Christmas as witnesses. Is this just a great guy that's trade to and his son. And then a really into. My baby. Sister in law this conference and is started help volunteering at. To talk just and a random on an openness to. But calling of the items that if you have items that you were in the holding area and to. The whole voucher part of they they do that if they take a donation for do it. Very nice. So the big guy a northwest's largest garage sale invented sales coming up on Saturday July 15 what are they hours. It is eight so by that great for it to four. And there is an early bird from. Seven to eight and you can get that. There. The morning you get tickets for early British tornado which otherwise it's six or five dollars. To get into the garage sale. And that's from 78. In the early birds when we come in disease can get over to Google can do look at the good stuff for strict yeah I mean they wanna they want the first well. How about a spaces are still cellar space available. There is cellar space all the way up until the Thursday. Before the self. So you can call Kim. Credit. 36 so banal seven. 5919. And cheek and say you left or you can go to and WG. Sales but the events dot com. And you can just go online and pay and everything online and you're spot there. But you say you've been doing this for quite a few years so tell me about some of the most unique things you've seen people bring in cell. Plumes. The intent. Let's see. I mean there's all corners and I am that I'm I'm a guy so I like my tools of chain saw. All act kinda stuff. ID. I did so my daughter's 97 mustang convertible want to hear him and sold within. Five hours of the cell opening in I have quite a few offers that surprised me I was in turn into. Via car sales spot spent it its older and they did well in which had a couple other people bring cars and boats and different things like that yourself. Well let's that's a much larger items in the new usual draw herself up. That's great then there's some great pictures on your website Aden and looking at these and it's like all kinds of Unix stuff. Yeah and we try to keep more and more pictures are there updated and we try to do we do our FaceBook. Put. The week as people are setting up were actually taking pictures of items. And their boots as they're setting up so you see a preview of different things that. People get there and say hey where's of this that and I thought I remember where they were asked. I. So there is a bit of organization to all of this right. Yes Tim is my wife is organized. She says the whole setup we have a boat just. 400 boost inside. The believe it might be a little tired of them. Another. 5500. Outside. But really. So close to a thousand booths close to that have been here in worst she's still selling so. So if you if you come to this northwest's largest garage sale invented sill in there's a thousand boosters you're gonna find something you want. Out you're gonna bring a couple of. Up homework and you're gonna get the deals you know and of course the evening. Towards the end of the sale you know if you come to the four. That's prime time people just wanna get them all to take anything at all. And they have their choice of donating it to you organization at the end of the sale Lleyton donate kind of like a good well they just can give there's stuff to them but. They try to give get rid of it spurs you know some kind of money so those are always the best arm. I feel is you want a great deal you just live when it comes the last two hours. Tell me about some of the sellers are they are there's these are professional people and these are some people that just wanna get rid of the stuff that Blaine around the garage. If they're just regular old people that. So people were apartments and they can't ever outsell some of them. Earth like a single mom that doesn't want people in the house of people are just don't want people in their house and you know we're using their restrooms or anything else so we supply it. We have clean restrooms we have food we have everything. For you to spend the whole day. Looking around in China. Jimmy restrictions of what people cannot tell. Yes we have you know birth family friendly. They and we don't allow any pornography or. Even though it's legal in Washington we don't allow India. Brooke to have slipped her a daily or. You are allowed to do. Guns but it has to be assert. They have metal on our FaceBook page you can you can happening. Bullets and just be a lock up all the stick it. Must be pretty wise yeah. Are you picker. IE. I'm at my wife's worst but oh it's good that the guess she's just all the car full spokeswoman just the other day so. There are places. How much more do you bring won't at this mr. in this city to bring to say oh it's okay. So we we. We like her stuff. And when you get too much stuff than there is a place to get rid of it quickly and that's the great thing about this you can bring your stuff so let. Donate if you item you have left and getting your car and drove away and wit and a whole wall of float money. Yeah because you say your sellers get one and they can't keep 100% of the money gimmick absolutely. All their money. And it just costs forty dollars to settle the Booth. It's forty from the outside and I believe it's sixty further air conditioning inside. So looks and you can actually come out and park cure RB and and so right out front and Herbie you can camp right there. Are you know Friday night and camp there. And so your stuff right out the side your RB if you have four or you can put the tuna. It's July might be no good options you know we have a lot of vendors to bring tents and they just set up their tab. Spent the night right there in the Booth than wake up themselves. What kind of things to people need to bring with them is there a seller do they need to bring a table. Or do you supply anything like that. I'm you can we have table that you can rent. And or you can bring your own we suggest you bring your own actually himself some money but if you have a a person that will rent them tables. And others that that term if you wanna canopy. To keep out of the sun is stepped up some but I don't live inside. You don't need anything except for table if you need tables. Again you can rent them or. Bring your own. Just have a great time doing it. That Europe's buyer and you need to bring your wagons or will barrels. In. Anything else sand trucks. So you can almost reference. And the preferably an empty trumping your car and or left empty bend your truck. They're up or you can look at where you can just all holding area go Brent do you all health Campbell that's related to. We're talking today with David both when he's the owner of northwest's largest garage sale invented sale which is coming up Saturday July 15 at the Clark county fairgrounds right yep okay. David what is the team maybe the oldest thing you've ever seen. Oh we have it's like nineteen no one. Furniture. And it. I mean there we have guys that that's all they do is go around picking. All over the area if they spent months on the road to bring it every time to ourselves. Do you think that is picking his tournament addictions. Yes. That that's what they look for the they they're really do we don't get to sell as much as you know we. Used to because of all all the things it takes to put on an event it's not something you can just. Shall open everything work it's there's a lot of detail we have security we have. All kinds of you know moving in Iraq ish you know winding people up and organizing them in and all that so it's we spend. Pretty much Thursday and Friday setting people up the votes. The only time they can come in though there's no buyers allowed during that time so we keep it fresh for the people who are coming to buy. So there's not pay you know somebody buying stuff before they get there. We are seen an occasion where somebody's brought something in the they didn't realize was as valuable as they haven't thought it was and and maybe somebody spotted that. All the time yeah I have people. Send me emails about this for a dollar fifty years or so and I. So there's offer. We're like 11100 dollars. And I just Syria. That's that's awesome you know some people you know they're. Family member passes. And there have been placed this so that alone and do it. You know at their house or whatever they bring it out there and they just wanna sell it you know and sometimes you don't have the value they know. That it could be worse something you know and sometimes. People sell stuff that for a dollar two dollars just like any other drugs so it and if you know you're looking for. Order happened this sees something I have a lot of people to get on the phone right away certain look and stuff up on the eBay and different things to figure out. You know what the value since we have a lot of people that are there they're looking for those kind of items. To ever have any appraisers on site. We don't and we try to keep it. Just say that. No atmosphere you know somebody could say something that's worked this. You know I don't think anybody. To. Really nailed down a price of something. It's whatever somebody says. You know it's worth it might say that's gonna go for this up for auction that. You know you could have. Not that person that wants to buy that item and not go for the price though so. We just. We're just there to have fun and have a good Karachi Dolan is that it showed just. He relaxed and what people solar items and people buy them we're not where we're not really gets seriously because as far as trade you know. If things that you know praise we do have guys that. Our pickers and if you ask them and Oregon came out of your Kim. And that's the summits where we would tell you to go to these sort of three or four people. And they would give you an estimated value and sometimes till they all buy it for that it's. So they're pretty fit those three people are pretty honest about what they're buying is they know they could turn a profit. They'll. Some of the most popular items that people bring to sell and that people life. A lot of it is like. Our urgent Haram. Decorations and the household stuff than than the men cave stuff. I would say that's the most popular things so people want the race thing on the wall and and some people get tired of it being on they're also they bring it and so that. Rustic. Items and foreign would know electric stuff is buried the very popular so. That's. And so. Think a lot of people come to find furniture. Mean they. It's amazing. ET I've walked fits and then I don't see stuff walk out the door you know somebody caring and respect when was that. How about that and totally is that the fifty. So you've got advocating I mean you just can't walk him into just breezed through you have to spend the time it really kind of looking and underneath stuff but you know it's sometimes there's so much stuff and a boot that you have to spend the time to look around the bigger. Well especially if you have close to thousand boots is this the cement there's a lot to look at. Our parents. So an imaginary lake in new parents might come out and vines may be close is this is Mike -- closers last forever baby wears and just a short amount of time. And I have two grandkids and we all their clothes came from the Euro zone they're like brand new and when we use when my daughter's resold them. They're like brand new it's it's a great place for. Anybody with children clothes and they liked you get stuck for a dollar fifty cents and a quarter it's crazy. At. A new items are there any new items like that's an act yeah we have people that are. That by closeout. The words store going out of business and they'll buy everything happened come out there so so we do have. I would say a small. Section of that but there is. Before we wrap up today wanna ask you what is what makes big sales so unique. That so we gathered. All these people in one place one day. And they have a blast in. I mean we get calls from all over the place they are heard this. About your sale at this so. We're over in Idaho and base that this is the best place. The northwest and so. So. It's just. I can't explain it just took off then and people out who we loved it and we try to keep it. That way it and we treat our vendors. Are sellers like gambling I mean. This is much as we care and you know we appreciate them being better and the customers because we couldn't do this without them. We couldn't. Have this sale without people like them and and we've been asked numerous times why don't you do it two days so. Well I don't think. Number world it'd be very very long because. That's the FBI mean it's it's a lot of work you know people don't think that you know. Two days is that big of deal it's just another day and it's all hole. A whole herd of things you have to do to make that second day we hear. Completely wiped out we started. On the Monday before. And we know told us. Tuesday after. These some of those days were good three and four hours of sleep so. And I would imagine as soon as you were finished with the sillier and prepping for the next on. Well Kim will be selling spots inside. The building to spark inside that she will be selling spots for November which we are. Currently record shall plus. Just that view it it won't if you like your spot. And you wanna sell the next time you have a chance to to rent that spot so and to this place so that pretty fast. Well the last few minutes we have here David give me all the details about the sale. So it's that the 80 am so we're PM. For five dollars three dollars for our veterans. And we have an early bird from seven to eight that is twenty dollars and by the tickets right there at the to get booed. And better parking is. The fairgrounds but they consists exposed a clerk. So. It's eleven dollars. To get in. With the working but. How many places can you drive around and get groped so for eleven dollars really get a break. To be agreed Saturday yup July 15. And it's northwest alerts to its own itself. Well thank you David David my phone is the owner of northwest's largest garage sale invented cell thanks have been a much scope thank you.
